2000. Separated from his wife, Lindsey Kidd.

 

2001. Solo show at the Red Box Gallery (Newcastle).

Published 'Lobsters in Love: A Whirlpool Romance' (illustrated by Lindsey Kidd), and 'Deadly Famous'.

 

2002. Solo show at Northumbria University Gallery (Newcastle).

Joined the Biscuit Factory (Newcastle) and held a studio at Hanover Square on the quayside.

Group shows at the 'John Moores Contemporary Painting Exhibition 24' at the Walker Art Gallery (Liverpool), and Palm Beach Art Fair (Florida).

Awarded an Arts Council Bursary.

Published 'The Tiger Bone Theif'. 

2002. Solo exhibitions 'Richard Kidd' at Red Box Design Group (Newcastle), 'North: Recent Paintings'  at Central Square (Newcastle), 'Richard Kidd: New Paintings' at Northumbria University Gallery (Newcastle)

 

2003. Solo show 'Kidd Around' at The Biscuit Factory  (Newcastle)

Published 'The Last Leg'.

2005-8. Taught and lectured in painting at Newcastle University Fine Art Department.

2006. Set up a studio out to Stocksfield in Northumberland.

Solo show at Fi-Fi-Fo-Fum Gallery where his work was shown regularly until his death.

2008. Richard's death from drowning at Dunsulan Falls in the Philippines.
