The Archive Project

This website is part of a long-term archival project intended to share more widely the work and life of our dad, Richard Kidd. It is for those who knew him, and for the many people who didn’t.  His life, and work, were cut short in 2008 when he was only 56, and the paintings and person we know are just a fragment of the whole story.

The purpose of this project is to learn more about him as an artist, and the people, places, and events that fed into his art.

We would like to invite his students, contemporaries, collectors, friends, and anyone with a story tell, to get in touch. We welcome any photos, anecdotes, biographical details, archival information, etc. no matter how seemingly insignificant. In turn, we hope to build and share a fuller picture of a life, and body of work, which was uncompromising, colourful, and generous.

Thank you again to those who have already shared stories or offered help.
